Four senior students at the South African Kyokushin Karate Academy (SAKKA) in Polokwane have earned prestigious black belt promotions after successfully completing their rigorous black belt tests during the Academy’s annual winter camp held in July at Motse Maria, Doornspruit, outside Polokwane.

Phuti Sekwadi was awarded his 2nd dan black belt, while Livhuwani Tshikalange, Siyathemba Mkhize, and Lethabo Mochemi received their 1st dan black belts. The promotions were officially conferred during a ceremony on Saturday, with belts and certificates presented by the dojo head and chief instructor, Sensei Molefi Moloto.

Addressing the graduates, Sensei Moloto praised their dedication and perseverance. “I once again congratulate these students for their dedication to the art and for their hard work. The real journey begins now,” he said.

The event also saw Sensei Koena Mokgehle joining the presentation to congratulate the newly promoted karatekas.
