Durban City FC booked their place in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup after defeating fellow KwaZulu-Natal side Lamontville Golden Arrows 5–4 on penalties following an eventful 1–1 draw at King Zwelithini Stadium.

Durban City opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Fezile Gcaba found the back of the net to give the visitors the advantage before halftime.

Golden Arrows responded early in the second half and levelled matters in the 58th minute through Thokozani Khumalo, who powered in a header. The match grew increasingly tense, and Durban City were reduced to ten men in the 78th minute after Athini Jodwana received a second yellow card for handball.

Despite the numerical advantage, Arrows were unable to find a winner in regulation time. Goalkeeper Darren Keet proved to be crucial for Durban City, producing several key saves , including denying Maxwele in extra time to keep his side in the contest.

The tie eventually ended in a stalemate , even after extra time and penalties were needed to decide who secured the last semi-final spot. After five rounds and sudden death, Mkhize converted for Durban City before Arrows captain Jiyane struck the post, sealing a dramatic 5–4 shootout win, an impressive third consecutive penalty shootout victory for Durban City

Durban City now become the second KwaZulu-Natal side to secure a place in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals, continuing an impressive cup run for the club.

The draw for the Nedbank Cup semi-finals will take place on Monday , 09 March, live on Extra-Time from 20:30 on the SuperSport PSL, DStv channel (Ch. 202).
