Founded in 2005 by entrepreneur Tshepo Brian Mekoa, Brima Logistics has grown from humble beginnings into a nationwide operation. Mekoa, who left his corporate career to pursue his entrepreneurial vision, started the business with a single truck fondly known as “The Old Lady.” Today, the company operates 10 branches across all nine provinces, employs over 180 staff members, and is set to open its 11th branch in early April.

The company’s name, Brima, is derived from a blend of Tshepo Brian Mekoa’s name and that of his wife, Matsietsi Mekoa, who serves as Managing Director. Together, they have built one of South Africa’s leading logistics brands.

Speaking on the partnership, Mekoa expressed pride in aligning with one of the country’s most iconic football institutions.

We are very happy to be the first sponsor of the Kaizer Chiefs Ladies team and proud to be associated with this colossal brand, which was also started by a young man back in 1970, Kaizer Motaung, he said.

We have worked hard to build a strong company that the people of Daveyton, where I’m from, can be proud of. Partnering with Amakhosi allows us to continue writing our beautiful story.

As part of the agreement, Brima Logistics will serve as the sleeve sponsor, with its logo featured on all Kaizer Chiefs Ladies jerseys.

Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung welcomed the partnership, highlighting its significance for the growth of women’s football.

We are truly enthused by the story of Tshepo and Matsietsi Mekoa, who have worked tirelessly to build one of the biggest logistics companies in the country. Their leap of faith into women’s football is inspirational, and we hope other corporates will follow their example to help grow the women’s game in South Africa and across the continent, she said.

The partnership was officially launched in Daveyton at Brima Café, symbolising the deep community roots behind the collaboration.
