CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe will address the media in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, at 12:00 local time (10:00 GMT), where he is expected to discuss key developments in African football and reflect on the continent’s performance at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The press conference follows Africa’s historic representation at the tournament, co-hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States, where more than 10 African nations competed. The continent was represented by Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, South Africa, Tunisia, Algeria, and Cape Verde, underlining the continued growth and competitiveness of African football on the global stage.
Among the African representatives, Egypt and Morocco emerged as the continent’s standout performers, both advancing to the Round of 16 before their respective campaigns came to an end.
Dr Motsepe is also expected to address a range of CAF matters and provide updates on the future direction of African football following another landmark FIFA World Cup campaign.
