SuperSport has secured the broadcast rights to Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour, ensuring South African fans can watch the highly anticipated series between the Springboks and All Blacks live on DStv.

CANAL+ has confirmed a broadcast rights agreement with the South African Rugby Union (SARU) and New Zealand Rugby (NZR) covering all matches on the historic tour.

The agreement will see SuperSport broadcast all four Tests between the Springboks and All Blacks, along with four matches between New Zealand and Vodacom United Rugby Championship teams.

The tour marks New Zealand’s first full tour of South Africa in 30 years and gets underway on Friday when the DHL Stormers host the All Blacks in Cape Town. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00.

SARU CEO Rian Oberholzer welcomed the agreement, saying fans across South Africa, New Zealand and around the world were eagerly anticipating the tour.

The South African, New Zealand and global rugby audience is thirsting for this Tour, and we’re delighted to confirm that SuperSport will continue to bring rugby’s biggest matches into homes in Africa,” said Oberholzer.

CANAL+ Africa and MultiChoice Group CEO David Mignot said the agreement underlined the broadcaster’s commitment to bringing major local sporting events to audiences.

Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry is another feather in our cap in terms of bringing sports content that matters to viewers and subscribers,” said Mignot.

New Zealand Rugby CEO Steve Lancaster said anticipation for the tour was continuing to build, particularly in New Zealand, South Africa and across the global rugby community.

SuperSport will also provide extensive coverage beyond the matches, including behind-the-scenes content from both camps, expert analysis and insights from former players.

Live updates will be available on SuperSport’s digital platforms and SuperSport Blitz throughout the tour.
