Orlando Pirates Reserves will take their historic DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) triumph to Europe when they embark on a nine-day Winners Tour of the Netherlands from 14 to 23 August 2026.
The Buccaneers secured their first-ever DDC title last season after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 and will now gain valuable exposure against established Dutch youth development programmes.
Pirates will begin their football programme on 18 August against SBV Vitesse Arnhem at the Papendal training complex, before facing De Graafschap at the Bezelhorst training complex in Doetinchem on 20 August.
The tour concludes with a mini-tournament at Rotterdam’s Robey Academy on 22 August, where Pirates will face Sparta Rotterdam and Japan’s Yamanashi Gakuin High School.
The squad will also attend Eredivisie matches during the tour, including a fixture at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam on 16 August and a match at Sparta Stadion on 22 August.
The tour is expected to provide the DDC champions with an opportunity to experience different footballing philosophies, test themselves against unfamiliar opposition and gain insight into the Dutch approach to youth development.
