AmaZulu FC secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Siwelele FC at Kings Park Stadium, while the KZN derby between Durban City and Richards Bay FC ended in a 1-1 draw. Milford FC completed an impressive comeback against Kruger United to claim a 2-1 victory at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
AmaZulu took control of their clash with Siwelele in the first half, opening the scoring in the 20th minute through Mlondi Mbanjwa, who finished from Thando Ngwenya’s assist. Ngwenya then got on the scoresheet himself 12 minutes later, doubling AmaZulu’s advantage in the 32nd minute. The hosts maintained their two-goal lead to secure all three points.
At Chatsworth Stadium, Richards Bay made an early breakthrough in the KZN derby when Nqaba Xulu put the Natal Rich Boyz ahead in the eighth minute. Durban City pushed for a response and eventually found their equaliser in the 69th minute when Richards Bay’s Sikhakhane turned the ball into his own net. Neither side could find a winner as the derby ended 1-1.
Meanwhile, Milford FC produced a strong comeback against Kruger United after a difficult start to the match. The Stallions were beginning to find their rhythm when Menzi Chili was shown a straight red card in the 41st minute following a reckless challenge, leaving Milford with 10 men.
Kruger United capitalised after the break, with Khethukuthula Ndlovu giving them the lead in the 53rd minute. Milford responded through substitute Masilela, who levelled the scores in the 70th minute before Mabena completed the comeback six minutes later.
Despite playing with 10 men, Milford held on to claim a 2-1 victory and cap off an eventful night of KZN football.
