TTM, Gosebo United to battle for ABC Motsepe League spot as Black Leopards participation is halted

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) and Gosebo United will face off in a relegation playoff to determine who remains in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League following a decision by the SAFA Limpopo Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) regarding Black Leopards.

The PEC, which met on 25 August 2026, resolved to halt Black Leopards’ participation in the ABC Motsepe League pending the finalisation of the club’s ongoing matter before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The CAS process will determine whether Black Leopards return to the provincial league, with the PEC set to consider the club’s participation in the 2027/28 season depending on the outcome of the court process.

The decision has left the league with an unresolved position, prompting SAFA Limpopo to arrange a relegation playoff between TTM FC and Gosebo United.

Both teams finished second from bottom in their respective streams during the previous season and will now battle for survival in a decisive encounter.

The playoff is scheduled for Sunday, 30 August 2026, at 15:00 at Oscar Mpetha Stadium at the University of Limpopo.

The outcome of the match will also allow SAFA Limpopo to finalise the 24-team composition of the ABC Motsepe League and determine the streaming of clubs for the upcoming season.

As a result, the provincial body has also postponed its preseason meeting and the Nedbank Cup draw, which were initially scheduled for Friday, 28 August.

The preseason meeting and Nedbank Cup draw have now been moved to Thursday, 3 September 2026, at 15:00 at Zororo Lodge.

The Nedbank Cup kick-off has also been moved to Wednesday, 9 September 2026.

The changes are necessary to allow SAFA Limpopo to conclude the league composition and streaming process following Sunday’s relegation playoff.
