Tanzanian giants Simba SC have confirmed the signing of South African defender Rushine De Reuck. The former Mamelodi Sundowns centre-back reunites with coach Fadlu Davids, who previously worked with him at Maritzburg United (Now Durban City).
De Reuck, 29, was recently on loan at Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva, but returns to Africa seeking regular football after limited game time abroad. At Sundowns, he enjoyed early success, including a Defender of the Season award in 2021, but later fell out of favour.
His arrival comes as Simba rebuild their defence following the departure of Che Malone. De Reuck brings CAF Champions League experience and is expected to play a key role in Simba’s push for domestic and continental honours.
The move also offers De Reuck a fresh start, with hopes of reigniting his international career with Bafana Bafana.
