In the final MTN8 quarter-final match, Mamelodi Sundowns faced Richards Bay at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday night. The Brazilians delivered a commanding performance, comfortably defeating the Natal Rich Boys 4–0.
Iqraam Rayners opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the game, giving Sundowns an early 1–0 lead. Shortly before halftime, Richards Bay’s Simphiwe Mcineka scored an unfortunate own goal, doubling Sundowns’ advantage to 2–0.
In the second half, Arthur Sales provided an assist for Rayners, who calmly slotted in his second of the night to make it 3–0. Siyabonga Mabena later added his name to the scoresheet, sealing a comprehensive 4–0 victory for the Yellow Nation.
The result sees Sundowns cruise into the semifinals of the Wafa Wafa competition.
