Kaizer Chiefs secured a comfortable 2–0 victory over Magesi FC this Saturday evening at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Chiefs made a couple of changes, with Nkosingiphile Ngcobo returning to the starting XI and Aden McCarthy back from suspension, while Magesi named an unchanged side.
The hosts started aggressively, with Miguel booked inside five minutes. Glody Lilepo came close early on, before Lebogang Maboe tested goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze from range.
The breakthrough arrived in the 31st minute when Wandile Duba opened his account for the season, giving Chiefs a deserved lead at the break.
Magesi threatened briefly before halftime, with Sifiso Luthuli heading wide, but Chiefs remained in control.
The hosts managed the second half effectively and sealed the result in the 84th minute, as substitute Mfundo Vilakazi found the net to wrap up the win.
The result sees Chiefs move up to 4th place on the table, while Magesi remain rooted in 16th. The two sides now head into the FIFA international break.
Chiefs will return to action on 06 April with an away fixture against Orbit College, while Magesi are back on 07 April at home against Marumo Gallants.
