Golden Arrows F.C. claimed a 2–1 win on the road against Marumo Gallants F.C. at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, thanks to a brace from Junior Dion.
The Chad international opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before doubling his tally in the 62nd minute against his former club, moving himself further up the top scorers’ chart this season with 12 goals.
Marumo Gallants F.C. pulled one back three minutes later through Ivorian defender Eroine Agnikoi, but that was not enough to prevent the visitors from taking maximum points.
The hosts faced an uphill battle after Katlego Otladisa, former Orlando Pirates midfielder, was shown a red card in the 36th minute, leaving Gallants to play the majority of the match with ten men.
The win lifts Golden Arrows F.C. three places up the league standings to ninth, while Marumo Gallants F.C. remain just two rungs above the bottom.
Arrows will now prepare to host Stellenbosch F.C. on 18 March, while Gallants travel to take on Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. away on 17 March.
