The football fraternity has been left heartbroken following the passing of longtime Orlando Pirates supporter Charles “Makhalanjalo” Fastini, who died last Friday.
Following the announcement by Orlando Pirates, fans across the country poured in messages of condolences, expressing deep sadness and paying tribute to a man widely regarded as one of the club’s most passionate and dedicated supporters.
Speaking to Thami “PHD” Ramasele, known for his post-match analyses on Orlando Pirates, he described the late Makhalanjalo as a figure who consistently championed peace among supporters.
Ramasele noted that Makhalanjalo came from an era when football rivalry was often marked by violence, yet he stood out as someone who always advocated for unity and peaceful support of the game.
“He was one of those special individuals who always encouraged peace among fans,” Ramasele said. “His passing is deeply painful. I am hurt, heartbroken, and devastated by the loss of such a remarkable supporter.”
Makhalanjalo’s legacy as a loyal Orlando Pirates fan and a promoter of peace among football supporters will be remembered by many within the football community.
