Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the signing of highly-rated winger Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch FC ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The versatile attacker arrives after an impressive campaign with Stellenbosch, where he featured in 39 matches across the Betway Premiership and the CAF Confederation Cup. His consistent performances and ability to operate in multiple attacking roles made him one of the club’s standout young talents.

Phili joins Amakhosi after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign with Stellenbosch FC, where he finished as the club’s leading scorer with nine goals in all competitions. His exceptional performances saw him sweep multiple end-of-season accolades, including the Players’ Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season, Golden Boot and Fans’ Player of the Season awards, cementing his status as one of South African football’s brightest young attacking talents.

Chiefs believe Phili’s quality, versatility and experience competing in both domestic and continental competitions will strengthen the squad as they prepare for another demanding season.

The 20-year-old has also enjoyed success on the international stage. He was part of the South Africa Under-20 team that won the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and has since been called up to the national Under-23 squad ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games also in sight.

Phili becomes the latest addition to Kaizer Chiefs’ squad as the club continues to reinforce its ranks ahead of the new campaign.
