Kaizer Chiefs Under-18 striker Tshiamo Mosana is continuing to make a name for himself in the club’s development structures, with his father, Eddie Mosana, backing him to reach greater heights in his football career.

Speaking exclusively to SportsZone journalist Ezekiel Iniesta Maupye at the Engen Cup Champ of Champs tournament in Pretoria, Eddie reflected on his son’s rapid rise since joining the Kaizer Chiefs development academy in 2023.

At just 16, Tshiamo is the youngest player in the Amakhosi Under-18 squad, but his performances have already shown maturity beyond his years.

The Polokwane-born striker joined the Chiefs academy at the age of 13 after attending Peeps School. He made an immediate impact, finishing as the Under-13 team’s top goalscorer in his first season before earning promotion to the Under-15 side, where he again finished among the leading scorers.

According to his father, Tshiamo’s progress has been driven by discipline, focus and a strong commitment to both football and education.

Tshiamo is a disciplined and focused young boy. He is very passionate about football, but he also understands the importance of school. He knows the pressure that comes with playing for a big club like Kaizer Chiefs,” said Eddie Mosana.

His family has also played a key role in his development, with his parents regularly attending his matches and supporting him throughout his journey.

Tshiamo’s performances have earned him recognition at national schools football level, where he finished among the top goalscorers and was part of the team that travelled to Ghana.

His international journey is expected to continue, with the youngster set to travel to Germany later this year before representing South Africa at the COSAFA tournament.

The striker recently added another achievement to his growing résumé after helping Kaizer Chiefs Under-18 win the Engen Cup Champ of Champs, finishing as a joint top goalscorer in the Under-18 competition.

For Eddie, however, the latest success is just another milestone in what he believes can be a promising career.

We are very proud of Tshiamo and the progress he has made. He is still young, but he understands what it means to wear the Kaizer Chiefs badge. We believe we are going to continue seeing him represent the badge with pride.”

With his goalscoring record, discipline and desire to improve, Tshiamo’s rise through the Kaizer Chiefs development ranks will be one to watch, as the young striker continues to work towards bigger opportunities at the club and beyond.
