SAFA Limpopo has expelled Phalaborwa United from the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League for a period of two years.
This is after the disciplinary committee found Phalaborwa United guilty of misconduct in relation to their abandoned Nedbank Cup match against Vondwe XI Bullets.
The DC ruled that Phalaborwa United contravened the following SAFA Competition Uniform Rules:
Rule 24.2.12.1 – Invasion of the field of play
After Vondwe XI Bullets were awarded a penalty late in the match, Phalaborwa United supporters entered the field and stayed there while the dispute over the penalty continued.
Rule 24.2.12.2 – Causing the abandonment of a match
After the referee had fled the scene, the assistant referee attempted to restart the match. He informed both captains that the game would continue from the penalty.
Phalaborwa United refused to allow the penalty to be taken and refused to continue playing.
Rule 24.2.12.3 – Throwing bottles or other objects
The referee gave evidence that objects were thrown at him. Phalaborwa United supporters threw bottles and cans towards the referee.

Rule 24.2.12.7 – Insulting or assaulting match officials
Phalaborwa United players pushed the referee around. Spectators entered the field and also attacked him.
He said he was beaten and had to run away for his safety until police came to assist him.
Vondwe XI Bullets have been declared match winners and will now play Selwana White Vultures.
