The PSL Promotion Play-Offs will bring together three clubs driven by very different ambitions as Magesi FC, Cape Town City FC and Milford FC battle for a place in next season’s Betway Premiership.

For Magesi, the play-offs represent a fight for survival after finishing 15th in the top flight and narrowly missing automatic safety. Having spent the season competing against some of the country’s biggest clubs, the Limpopo outfit will now face immense pressure to retain their Premiership status.

Cape Town City enter the mini-league with a different objective; redemption. After suffering relegation from the Betway Premiership, City now have an immediate opportunity to fight their way back into South Africa’s top division. Despite their recent top-flight experience, the Cape side faces a difficult challenge in a competition where pressure often outweighs pedigree.

Meanwhile, Milford approach the play-offs with ambitions of making history. After finishing third in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, the KwaZulu-Natal side now stands just a few matches away from potentially securing a first-ever promotion to the Premiership. With far less top-flight experience than their rivals, Milford will embrace the underdog role as they chase a dream season.

The opening fixture of the play-offs will take place on Tuesday, 26 May, when Cape Town City host Milford at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town at 3pm.

While all three clubs share the same destination, their journeys into the play-offs tell very different stories ;survival for Magesi, redemption for Cape Town City, and history for Milford.
