The South African Football Association (SAFA) today hosted a media briefing at SAFA House, where the official election nomination list was formally handed over to the Governance and Electoral Committee for verification and compliance screening ahead of the upcoming SAFA Elective Congress.
The list of presidential nominees includes incumbent President Dr Danny Jordaan, AmaZulu FC Chairman Sandile Zungu, who has secured backing from several SAFA regions, and current SAFA Vice-President Bennett Bailey.
SAFA Chief Executive Officer Lydia Monyepao officially handed over the complete nomination packages to the Governance and Electoral Committee, which will now undertake the vetting process to determine each candidate’s eligibility in accordance with the Association’s electoral regulations.
Following the completion of the verification process, SAFA is expected to announce the final list of eligible candidates before delegates head to the Elective Congress.
