The independent SAFA Governance Committee has confirmed that incumbent President Dr Danny Jordaan and Sandile Zungu have both met the required criteria and have been cleared to contest the position of SAFA President.
The Governance Committee also completed its assessment of nominations for the National Executive Committee and Provincial structures. Among those confirmed on the National list are Mxolisi Sibam, Mzimkhulu Fina, Solomon Mkhabela, Anastasia Tsichlas, Bennett Bailey, Linda Zwane, Poobalan Govindasamy and Tankiso Modipa, among others.
The final Provincial list includes Mosimanegape Mathe, Andile Ngconjana, Bonginkosi Job Mchunu, Kwenzakwakhe Ngwenya, Jack Maluleka, Lebogang Riet and Leanne Jonkers, among others.
The Governance Committee further confirmed Premier Soccer League (PSL) Chairman Irvin Khoza, Thokozile Madlala, Kaizer Motaung and Sifiso Biyela as nominees representing Special Members.
The SAFA Elective Congress will take place on 12 September 2026, with the Governance Committee mandated to independently oversee the nomination process, address any candidate-related matters and determine compliance with the requirements set out in the SAFA Statutes.
The Committee presented its final findings to members of the media at SAFA House on Friday, 28 August 2026, formally concluding the candidate eligibility process.
Governance Committee Chairperson Dr Victor Mogajane, Deputy Chairperson Tumi Dlamini, Anzel Laubscher and Abel Ramolotja subsequently handed the final list to SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao.
Speaking after the conclusion of the process, Dr Mogajane expressed his appreciation to the members of the Governance Committee for completing the eligibility assessment within the stipulated timeframe.

We are grateful and confident that we have been able to complete the exercise.
The results have been submitted to SAFA management, who will in turn communicate them to the respective nominees.

With the eligibility process now concluded, attention turns to the 12 September Elective Congress, where SAFA members will vote to determine the Association’s next leadership and executive structures.
