Siwelele FC have signaled their intentions ahead of the new Betway Premiership season by unveiling 14 new signings as they look to build a squad capable of challenging higher up the table.
The Bloemfontein-based club finished 10th in the league last season, but the off-season has brought significant changes following the departure of several key players, Bohlale Ngwato, Ghampani Lungu and Neo Rapoo all secured moves to reigning Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates, leaving head coach Lehlohonolo Seema with the task of rebuilding his squad.
Rather than settle on those departures, Seema and the club have moved swiftly in the transfer market, bringing in a host of new faces to strengthen every department.
Among the headline arrivals is Ghanaian forward Hamza Issah from Hearts of Oak, who is expected to add firepower to Siwelele’s attack.
The club has also secured the services of Felix Noge, Goitseone Phoko, Neo Mokhachane, Kwanda Lupalulele, Matthews Marou, Raymond Makhuvele, Blessing Thulo, Jaisen Clifford, Selaelo Rasebotja, Shadrack Kobedi, Thabiso Sesane, Wandile Mthombeni and experienced defender Njabulo Ngcobo.
The extensive recruitment reflects the club’s ambition to improve on last season’s campaign and establish themselves as genuine competitors in the league.
Seema will be hoping the new additions settle quickly and develop the chemistry needed to compete consistently throughout the season.
Excitement is building in Bloemfontein as supporters look forward to seeing the new look Siwelele side in action for the first time.
The team will begin their 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign at Toyota Stadium, where they host TS Galaxy on Sunday, 2 August, with kick-off scheduled for 17:30.
With a refreshed squad, renewed ambition and the backing of their home supporters, Siwelele FC will be determined to make a strong statement from the opening whistle and prove they are ready to compete with the league’s best this season
