Former AmaTuks assistant coach Willy “Machete” Moloto is set to be appointed as the new head coach of Polokwane City FC ahead of the upcoming season.

Popularly known as “Bayano,” Moloto is no stranger to the club. He previously served as head coach of Polokwane City’s DDC side before being promoted to the first team as an assistant coach, giving him a strong understanding of the club’s culture and football philosophy.

Last season, Moloto worked as assistant coach to Kwanele Kopo at AmaTuks, where he continued to build his reputation as one of South Africa’s promising young coaches.

He is expected to replace Phuti Mohafe, who has since joined Marumo Gallants.

Widely regarded as a modern tactician with a deep understanding of the game, Moloto’s appointment signals Polokwane City’s ambition to build on a progressive football identity as they prepare for the new campaign.
