𝗭𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has handed South Africa international Themba Zwane a three-match suspension following his red card during the FIFA World Cup 2026™️ group stage clash against Mexico on 11 June in Mexico City.

The decision stems from a breach of Article 14(1)(e) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Zwane was dismissed for a direct red card during the match, which South Africa lost 2–0.

FIFA confirmed that the suspension covers three official matches and noted that the ruling remains subject to appeal before the FIFA Appeal Committee.
