The countdown to AFCON 2025 in Morocco is getting closer and closer, and with that, the prestigious AFCON trophy is making its final tour before heading to the continent’s biggest football tournament this December.
Soweto TotalEnergies Dube was honored to host the South African leg of the trophy tour and where better than in the heart of Africa’s football passion? Soweto is known for its deep love for the game and for producing many of South Africa’s greatest football stars.
As the official sponsor of CAF, TotalEnergies led the celebrations and proudly presented the trophy alongside Lucas Radebe. The former Leeds United and Bafana Bafana captain was joined by fellow legends Siphiwe Tshabalala and Tso Vilakazi, both in attendance to share in the excitement and spirit of the occasion.

TotalEnergies expressed its joy at being part of the tour and emphasized its continued commitment to supporting African football and communities.
SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao also attended the event, to witness CAF and TotalEnergies for bringing the trophy and hype to South Africa. SAFA and South Africa fans hopes that Bafana Bafana will make the nation proud and bring the trophy home by winning it in Morocco.
The Africa Cup of Nations kicks off on 21 December 2025 and runs until 22 January 2026, promising a month of top-class football and unforgettable moments across the continent.
