Roman’s Pizza has announced its sponsorship of the inaugural Mafori Cup 2026, reaffirming its commitment to supporting community football and local talent in Limpopo.
The knockout tournament will take place on Saturday, 25 July, at Seshego Stadium under the theme “Where Legends Rise.” It will feature four professional teams representing Sekhukhune (Sekhukhune United) , Venda (Venḓa Football Club) , Moletjie (Magesi Football Club) and Polokwane (Polokwane City).
Organisers expect more than 5,000 supporters to attend the event, which promises football, entertainment and community celebrations. Fans who purchase tickets will also receive a digital Roman’s Pizza voucher, adding value to the match-day experience.
The Mafori Cup has evolved into a platform for showcasing local football talent and strengthening community pride. The tournament is closely associated with Mafori Mphahlele Stadium and has historically been hosted in partnership with Baroka FC, whose headline sponsor is Mafori.
Roman’s Pizza Brand Manager Ayanda Khumalo said the sponsorship reflects the brand’s commitment to bringing communities together through football.
