Former Chippa United Coach Dan “Dance” Malesela has been appointed Head of Football Development at the Africa School of Excellence.
Malesela returns to the institution, formerly known as the Transnet School of Excellence, where he previously spent nine years developing young footballers before embarking on a successful coaching career in professional football. Chippa Group says his appointment reinforces its commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent.
The Group has also named former Springbok and Blue Bulls player Tim Dlulane to lead its rugby ventures. With extensive experience in sports administration, commercial strategy and stakeholder engagement, Dlulane will oversee initiatives aimed at growing and strengthening the sport across South Africa.
Completing the trio of appointments is Morio Sanyane, who has been named Group Head of Communications and Stakeholder Relations. Sanyane brings decades of experience in strategic communications, having previously served as Director of Communications and Stakeholder Relations at SAFA, where he played a key role during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, among other senior leadership positions.
Chippa Group says the appointments reflect its long-term vision of investing in people, developing sustainable sporting institutions, and creating pathways for excellence in sport, education and community development.
