Zambian international goalkeeper Cyril Chibwe has officially parted ways with Orbit College FC following the expiration of his short-term contract, bringing an end to a brief but remarkable stint with the North West-based side.
Chibwe, who joined Orbit College FC in January on a six-month deal, arrived with solid expectations given his experience and pedigree in Zambian football.
The former ZESCO United shot-stopper was seen as a valuable addition to the squad, bringing leadership, composure, and top-level experience to the team’s goalkeeping department.
During his time at Orbit College, Chibwe made a total of seven appearances, while his spell was relatively short he managed to register one clean sheet showcasing glimpses of his quality between the posts.
Chibwe’s presence provided competition within the squad and added depth to the team’s defensive structure during the second half of the season.
Chibwe’s professionalism and experience were evident both on and off the pitch and his ability to organize the defense and remain calm under pressure highlighted why he has earned recognition at international level for Zambia National team.
However, with the conclusion of his contract, both player and club have gone their separate ways. Orbit College FC has yet to publicly outline their goalkeeping plans following Chibwe’s departure, leaving questions about whether they will seek a replacement or rely on existing options within their squad.
Having previously represented ZESCO United, one of Zambia’s most prominent clubs, Chibwe brings with him valuable experience from both domestic and international competitions, his availability on the transfer market is likely to attract interest from clubs seeking an experienced and reliable goalkeeper.
As the transfer window progresses all eyes will be on where Chibwe lands next with his background and capabilities, the Zambian international goalkeeper remains a strong candidate for teams looking to bolster their goalkeeping department.
