The Orlando Amstel Arena in Johannesburg will host Bafana Bafana’s first of two back-to-back 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Kenya on Friday, 13 November, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00.

The venue previously hosted South Africa’s opening Group D qualifier against Guinea on 26 September, when Bafana secured a 2-1 victory to get their campaign off to a winning start. Pitso Mosimane’s side followed that result with a convincing 5-0 win over Eritrea in Cairo on 30 September, collecting six points from their opening two matches to sit top of Group D.

Kenya, coached by South African football legend Benni McCarthy, drew 1-1 with Eritrea in their opening qualifier before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Guinea. The Harambee Stars have collected one point from their two matches.

The upcoming double-header will carry extra significance for McCarthy, who represented Orlando Pirates during his playing career and once called the Orlando Amstel Arena home.
