Highly-rated Limpopo-born youngster Carreca Nkondo has resurfaced at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City FC after leaving Black Leopards.

SportsZone has reliably established that Nkondo has put pen to paper on a one-year-deal with an option to extend with the Northern Cape outfit.

The 21-year-old midfielder hailing from Madonsi on the outskirts of Malamulele was part of Lidoda Duvha squad that suffered relegation from the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.

Carreca joined Leopards on a one-year-deal at the start of last season but was unable to feature for most of their campaign due to the imposed transfer ban.

Caracara, as affectionately known, plied his trade in several Limpopo ABC Motsepe outfits such as Vondwe Xl Bullets, Selwane White Vultures and Emannuel FC.

The talented midfielder, well-known for his technical prowess and efficiency in dead-ball situations, will look to bring his skill set to a side that finished in seventh position in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.

Nkondo will be familiar with Head coach Thulani Nkosi, who spent last season coaching Selwane White Vultures in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League before his ultimate return to Upington to replace Musa Nyatama.

Upington City FC will begin their campaign on Saturday when they visit the league’s rookies, North West University FC at NWU Fanie du Toit sports ground at 15h00.
