KwaZulu-Natal football stands on the brink of a special moment as Durban City and Milford FC prepare to fly the provincial flag high in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals this weekend.
With the Premier Soccer League confirming fixtures for 04 and 05 April 2026, the possibility of an all-KZN final is no longer just a dream , it is within touching distance.
Durban City will open the semi-final action on Saturday at Chatsworth Stadium, where they host Casric Stars at 15h00. Backed by a loyal home crowd, City will look to take a decisive step toward the final.
For forward Mashego, the occasion is about rewarding the supporters who have stood by the team throughout the campaign:
“I think we owe it to our fans, especially at Chatsworth. They’ve been there every week, so it would be fantastic to close the season with the Nedbank Cup”
However, they face a well-drilled Casric Stars side known for their strength on set-pieces and quick transitions , a challenge that will demand City’s very best.

Attention then shifts to Sunday, where Milford FC travel to Solomon Mahlangu Stadium to face TS Galaxy FC in another high-stakes encounter.
Milford head coach Pupuma believes in both his team’s chances and the bigger picture for the province.
“Honestly, deep down in my heart, I do wish it will be a KZN final ”
With two teams still in contention, KwaZulu-Natal carries hope into the weekend , not just for results, but for representation on one of the country’s biggest stages.
Pupuma believes that success for KZN teams could send a powerful message across South African football:
“We are KZN teams, if we win I am going to make it a point that we fill up Moses Mabhida; we have to show people that it does not have to be Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates or Mamelodi Sundowns to fill stadiums.”
Should both Durban City and Milford rise to the occasion, the Nedbank Cup final could become more than a decider , it could be a defining moment for KZN football.
