The Nedbank Cup has once again lived up to its reputation as a competition of surprises, with Milford FC and Casric Stars emerging as the standout underdogs ahead of the semi-finals.

Milford’s journey has been built on belief and momentum. With each round, they have shown growing confidence, taking on more experienced sides without hesitation and playing with a sense of freedom that has made them difficult to contain.

Head coach Pupuma has remained calm but optimistic as his side
continues to defy expectations:

“Honestly, deep down in my heart, I do wish it will be a KZN final.”

Meanwhile, Casric Stars have taken a more structured approach on their road to the semi-finals.

Disciplined and tactically organised, they have combined defensive solidity with a sharp threat on set-pieces and counter-attacks , making them one of the most balanced teams left in the competition.

Their quality has not gone unnoticed.

“They are dangerous from set-pieces and on the counter-attack; they are a complete team. We simply have to bring our A-game,”
said Durban City forward Mashego

Different in approach but similar in ambition, both Milford FC and Casric Stars now find themselves on the brink of something special.

For two sides that began the competition outside the spotlight, the semi-finals present more than just an opportunity; they offer a chance to challenge expectations and write a new chapter in their journey.
