Newcomers to the top flight, Durban City FC, have strengthened their squad with a string of key signings ahead of their debut Betway Premiership campaign.

The club has secured two experienced campaigners from Cape Town City — Thabo Nodada (30), who brings over 200 top-flight appearances to the midfield, and Haashim Domingo (29), a creative attacker with experience at Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits, and Raja Casablanca. They’re joined by Jean Lwamba, a Congolese striker from Botswana’s Tafic FC, and Kyle Jurgens, a promising 21-year-old right-back.

Earlier this window, Durban City also announced the arrivals of Fredrick Asare, Darren Keet, Liam De Kock, Brooklyn Poggenpoel, and Trevor Mokwena. Poggenpoel brings solid PSL experience from stints with SuperSport United and Cape Town clubs, while Keet’s return adds leadership at the back. Asare’s international pedigree boosts depth in goal, while Mokwena and De Kock offer youthful energy.

Coach Gavin Hunt, back in the dugout after parting ways with SuperSport United(now Siwelele FC) , is focused on survival and building a long-term project.

“Right now, it’s about staying up. But there’s potential to grow here,” Hunt said.

Chairman Farook Kadodia echoed the sentiment: “This season is about establishing ourselves. Real ambition starts in year two.”

Durban City opens their Premiership journey this Sunday away to TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium.
