Ugandan international goalkeeper Ismael Watenga has returned to Mamelodi Sundowns for pre-season training at Chloorkop after spending the past few seasons out on loan.
The talented shot-stopper gained valuable experience during loan spells with the University of Pretoria and Golden Arrows and is now aiming to establish himself in Sundowns’ first-team squad.

However, breaking into the reigning champions’ squad will be no easy task. Sundowns currently boast five senior goalkeepers, with strong competition for the number one jersey. Among them is Ricardo Goss, who is currently on loan at Siwelele FC.
Despite the stiff competition, Watenga returns to Chloorkop determined to impress the technical team and earn a permanent place in one of the strongest squads in South African football.
