PEP continued its commitment to empowering young girls through sport with two PEP Mini Netball Festivals held in Beaufort West and Newcastle during August.

The first festival took place at Rustdene Sports Grounds in Beaufort West, Western Cape, on 8 August 2026, followed by a second event at Arbor Park Primary School in Newcastle on 15 August.

The festivals brought young netball players together for a day of sport, learning and fun, with participants taking part in interactive activities and friendly matches designed to develop their skills while building confidence and teamwork.

In Newcastle, PEP mascots also joined the festivities, adding to the excitement as they interacted with the young players throughout the event.

Held during Women’s Month, the festivals highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for young girls to participate in sport and develop key qualities such as confidence, teamwork and leadership from an early age.

The events form part of PEP’s nationwide Mini Netball programme, which aims to strengthen grassroots netball and provide young girls with opportunities to grow, develop their skills and aspire to greater achievements through sport.
