Polokwane City have added firepower to their squad with the signings of striker Thabelo Tshikweta and winger Rudzani Thobo from Venda Football Club, ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign.

Tshikweta had joint Venda FC after a breakout season with Mpheni Home Defenders. The talented striker captained Mpheni to the National ABC Motsepe League playoffs, finishing as the tournament’s top goalscorer. His meteoric rise and goal-scoring instinct have quickly earned him a place in the top flight, where he’ll look to continue his upward trajectory with Rise and Shine.

Thobo, on the other hand, had been a long-serving and loyal figure at Venda FC, having joined the club in the 2019/20 season when it was still known as Venda Football Academy. Over five years, he has grown into one of the side’s most consistent attacking threats on the wing, helping them transition from the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League into the professional ranks. His pace, dribbling, and direct style make him a valuable addition to Polokwane City’s wide options.

Both players have reported for preseason and are expected to feature in coach’s plans as Polokwane City aim to strengthen their squad depth and attacking sharpness going into the new campaign. Their signings reflect the club’s ongoing commitment to unearthing and developing local talent from the region.
