Richards Bay FC have announced the appointment of Dimitar Nikolaev Pantev as their new head coach, with the Bulgarian coach signing a one-season contract with an option to renew.
The 50-year-old arrives at the Natal Rich Boyz with considerable experience across African football, having previously coached clubs including Tanzanian giants Simba SC, as well as Botswana sides Jwaneng Galaxy and Gaborone United.
Pantev holds a UEFA A Licence and has enjoyed success in both domestic and continental competitions.
During his time at Simba SC, he played a key role in helping the Tanzanian club reach the CAF Champions League group stages in 2025. He also guided Orapa United FC into the CAF Confederation Cup group stages in 2024.
His recent spell in Botswana has also produced silverware. Pantev won the Botswana National Cup with Jwaneng Galaxy during the 2025/26 season, while he previously won the Botswana League with Gaborone United in the 2024/25 campaign.
The appointment comes as Richards Bay look to build on their progress and continue establishing themselves as a competitive force in South African football.
Pantev will now take charge of the Rich Boyz as they prepare for the challenges ahead, with the club officially welcoming their new coach and wishing him success in his new role.
