TS Galaxy hosted newcomers Durban City at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday afternoon, but the visitors had other plans. Durban City spoiled the party with an impressive performance, scoring twice without reply to secure a 0-2 win and all three points on the road.
Later that evening, Stellenbosch FC welcomed the Glamour Boys, Kaizer Chiefs, at Athlone Stadium. Despite Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi being absent due to a family emergency, Amakhosi delivered a strong showing. They too walked away with a 0-2 victory, thanks to a composed and clinical performance.
Both Kaizer Chiefs and Durban City have started their seasons on the right foot and will aim to build on this momentum in the upcoming midweek fixtures.
