University of Pretoria Football Club (AmaTuks) have confirmed the signing of 18 new players as they intensify their bid for promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship back to the Betway Premiership.

The Tshwane-based club endured a competitive campaign last season, narrowly missing out on promotion, and have now embarked on a significant recruitment drive to strengthen their chances in the 2024/25 campaign.

Among the standout arrivals is experienced striker Prince Nxumalo, who brings proven firepower to the forward line. Luvuyo Phewa returns to the club on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, while exciting winger Aphelele Teto has been brought in to add creativity and pace on the flanks.

The midfield has been bolstered by Onele Rulwana, Tokollo Makgolane, and Bantu Chigi, while defensive reinforcements include Vusi Sibiya, Thulani Zandamela, and Abel Mabaso.

In addition, AmaTuks have invested in young prospects such as Jordan Allies, Lesego Sebetlela, Akhanyile Norawana, and Sbonga Mgwaba, aligning with the club’s long-standing commitment to developing future stars. Completing the list of new arrivals are Thabo Nkwana, Sifiso Mazibuko, Thando Buthelezi, Kamohelo Hoala, and Sifiso Mbidana.

AmaTuks, known for their emphasis on player development, will be hoping that the combination of seasoned campaigners and emerging talent will provide the consistency needed to mount a serious challenge for promotion.

They start their 2025/2026 Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign today, away to Highbury Fc in Gqeberha.
