Representatives from some of Africa’s top clubs, including Petro de Luanda and AS Douanes, shared their expectations, ambitions, and readiness ahead of the opening games.

Petro de Luanda head coach Sergio Valdeolmillos stressed the importance of maintaining the championship mentality that saw his side lift the BAL title last season.

Al Ahly’s coach acknowledged last season’s challenges, citing injuries, fatigue, and a lack of chemistry as key setbacks. He emphasised the importance of team cohesion this year.

Chemistry between players is crucial. We had a 14-day training camp, and we are determined to approach things the right way this season.

The Joburg Giants coach also expressed confidence, promising a strong showing on home soil.

We promise the city and the country that we will do our best. Pretoria has always supported us.
