Veteran midfielder Zenatha Coleman hanged her boots on her COSAFA journey in the most fitting way possible by lifting the trophy with Namibia women’s national football team and walking away with the Player of the Tournament accolade.Speaking to us in the pre-final press conference, this is what she said:
I have been playing COSAFA five or six times, this is my great chance to achieve one of my dreams. I want to lift this trophy this is a great chance to lift the trophy, also for the young girls that look up to this team. I want to lift up their spirit for the final and the brave gladiators. I want to end it on a high note.

In what will go down as a golden chapter for Namibian football, the Brave Gladiators delivered a historic triumph at the COSAFA Women’s Championship, with Coleman at the heart of it all. The experienced campaigner led from the front, combining composure, leadership and moments of magic throughout the tournament.
As the most experienced player in the squad, Coleman’s influence stretched far beyond her performances on the pitch. She became the steady voice in the dressing room, the motivator in difficult moments, and the player her teammates looked to when the pressure mounted. Her presence anchored a youthful and ambitious Namibian side determined to make history.
Match after match, Coleman showcased why she has long been regarded as one of Namibia’s finest football exports. Whether dictating play in midfield, driving forward with purpose, or delivering decisive contributions in crucial moments, she proved instrumental in her nation’s success.

Being named Player of the Tournament was a testament to her consistency, work ethic and undeniable class. But perhaps even more special was the image of Coleman hoisting the COSAFA trophy a symbol of perseverance, dedication and years of service to her country.
In announcing that she would be hanging up her boots in COSAFA competition, Coleman ensured her farewell was one of celebration rather than sorrow. She leaves the regional stage not only as a champion, but as a role model for the next generation of Namibian footballers.
Her legacy will be remembered not just for the silverware, but for the standards she set, the battles she fought, and the inspiration she provided. As Namibia celebrates their triumph, they also salute a true icon of the game Zenatha Coleman, a champion to the very end.
