Former Orlando Pirates and Mpumalanga Black Aces goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane has joined Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Phinnet City as a goalkeeper coach and co-coach.
The experienced former shot-stopper brings extensive knowledge to the club’s technical team, having represented several prominent South African clubs during his playing career and earned national team caps.
Mabokgwane has been involved with Phinnet City since pre-season and has already played a role in the club’s opening three matches of the campaign. The team has kept three clean sheets in those matches, highlighting the early impact of the defensive work being implemented.
Despite continuing his work as a football analyst for SABC Sport, Mabokgwane is also focused on developing young and aspiring goalkeepers. His involvement at Phinnet City forms part of that commitment while contributing his experience to the club’s ambitious project.
Mabokgwane says he is excited about the project and sees the opportunity as a chance to share his experience while helping the club and its young players develop.
His arrival adds valuable playing experience and technical expertise to Phinnet City’s coaching structure as the Limpopo outfit continues its ABC Motsepe League campaign.
