The Premier Soccer League (PSL) witnessed history this weekend as two of the well known goalscorers in Peter Shalulile and Bradley Grobler, reached career-defining milestones.

Shalulile, The New King of PSL Goals

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile etched his name into South African football folklore by scoring his 130th PSL goal, surpassing Siyabonga Nomvethe’s record of 129.

Known for his tireless running, sharp movement and clinical finishing, the Namibian has built a reputation as one of the most complete strikers to ever grace the PSL. Since making his debut in 2015, Shalulile has collected Golden Boot awards, led Sundowns to multiple league titles, and now stands as the outright all-time leading scorer in the PSL era.

Bradley Grobler, The Century Man

On the same weekend, veteran forward Bradley Grobler reached the 100-goal mark in the league, scoring for Sekhukhune United in their 2–0 win over Durban City.

At 37 years old, Grobler becomes only the fifth striker in PSL history to reach the century milestone. His career, built on consistency and composure in front of goal, has spanned over a decade, making him one of the league’s most respected professionals.

Why It Matters

For a league often criticised for a lack of prolific strikers, the exploits of Shalulile and Grobler are a reminder of the value of persistence, professionalism, and pure finishing instinct.

Shalulile now wears the crown as the PSL’s greatest-ever goalscorer.

Grobler, through longevity and reliability, joins an exclusive 100-goal club alongside legends like Nomvethe and Daniel Mudau.

A Historic Weekend

Two different careers, two different journeys but one unforgettable weekend for South African football. Shalulile’s rise to the summit and Grobler’s century strike will be remembered as a double milestone that celebrates the art of goalscoring in the PSL.
