Richards Bay FC lifted the 2025 KZN Premierโ€™s Cup after edging Durban City 1โ€“0 in a tense final on Sunday. A second-half strike from the penalty spot by Captain Tshepo Mabua sealed the win for the Natal Rich Boys.

The 2025 KZN Premierโ€™s Cup featured six teams from KwaZulu-Natal competing over two days, Saturday, 26 July and Sunday, 27 July at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex.

The action kicked off on Saturday with two play-off matches. At 11:00, AmaZulu FC faced off against Golden Arrows in a classic KZN derby, while Durban City took on Milford FC at 14:00.

Amazulu and Durban City won their respective playoff match, to advance to the semifinals where they would face off against each other.



Sundayโ€™s schedule was packed with knockout drama. The first Semifinal  saw Richards Bay FC face Midlands Wanderers, a team fresh from gaining promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the National ABC Motsepe League Playoffs held in Pretoria earlier this month. Richards Bay won the match 4-3 on penalties after the game finished 1-1 I’m regulation time.



The second semifinal saw the winners of Saturdayโ€™s play-offs clash for a place in the final. Durban City, having beaten Milford FC, went on to face AmaZulu, who had beaten Golden Arrows. Durban City progressed to the final by beating Amazulu by 3 goals to 2.

The tournament concluded with the final, where Richards Bay FC defeated Durban City 1โ€“0 to lift the 2025 KZN Premierโ€™s Cup.



All six participating clubs received a R700,000 participation fee.
