Richards Bay FC lifted the 2025 KZN Premierโs Cup after edging Durban City 1โ0 in a tense final on Sunday. A second-half strike from the penalty spot by Captain Tshepo Mabua sealed the win for the Natal Rich Boys.
The 2025 KZN Premierโs Cup featured six teams from KwaZulu-Natal competing over two days, Saturday, 26 July and Sunday, 27 July at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex.
The action kicked off on Saturday with two play-off matches. At 11:00, AmaZulu FC faced off against Golden Arrows in a classic KZN derby, while Durban City took on Milford FC at 14:00.
Amazulu and Durban City won their respective playoff match, to advance to the semifinals where they would face off against each other.

Sundayโs schedule was packed with knockout drama. The first Semifinal saw Richards Bay FC face Midlands Wanderers, a team fresh from gaining promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the National ABC Motsepe League Playoffs held in Pretoria earlier this month. Richards Bay won the match 4-3 on penalties after the game finished 1-1 I’m regulation time.

The second semifinal saw the winners of Saturdayโs play-offs clash for a place in the final. Durban City, having beaten Milford FC, went on to face AmaZulu, who had beaten Golden Arrows. Durban City progressed to the final by beating Amazulu by 3 goals to 2.

The tournament concluded with the final, where Richards Bay FC defeated Durban City 1โ0 to lift the 2025 KZN Premierโs Cup.

All six participating clubs received a R700,000 participation fee.
