On Match Day 2 of the Betway Premiership, Wednesday night saw Kaizer Chiefs claim a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Polokwane City at FNB Stadium. Ndlovu found the back of the net in the 79th minute, securing all three points for Amakhosi. The win places Chiefs on six points, just behind the early leaders, Durban City.
Durban City, the league newcomers, continued their impressive start under coach Gavin Hunt. They secured another 1-0 win, this time against Chippa United, giving them a perfect six points from two matches and placing them at the top of the table.
Sekhukhune United also maintained their 100% record, defeating TS Galaxy 1-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium. That result puts them level on points with Chiefs and Durban City.
After losing their opening match, Golden Arrows bounced back with an important 1-0 win over Richards Bay in the KZN Derby.
Meanwhile, Magesi and Stellenbosch played to a 1-1 draw, with both sides earning a point.
Five teams played at home, and four of them managed to win their matches. Magesi were the only home side that didn’t secure victory, settling for a draw.
