Hisense South Africa has launched its Hands on the Future campaign, giving young footballers from Khayelitsha an unforgettable experience designed to inspire them to dream beyond their current circumstances.
As an Official Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the electronics manufacturer took a group of aspiring footballers on a journey through Cape Town, travelling in custom-branded Hisense FIFA World Cup™ taxis before visiting the Hisense Atlantis Factory and ending the day at the iconic Table Mountain.

At the summit, each child was asked a simple but powerful question: “What is your biggest dream?” While some hoped to one day wear the Bafana Bafana jersey, others spoke about becoming teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs and community leaders.
The Hands on the Future campaign, brought to life through our specially branded taxi journey, represents something much bigger than getting from one place to another, said Luna Nortje, Deputy General Manager for Hisense South Africa.
It is about possibility. We want every young dreamer to understand that where they begin does not define the final score. Life, much like football, is about what you do with the opportunities in front of you, and believing that your future is bigger than your current circumstances.
The initiative also gave the youngsters an educational tour of the Hisense Atlantis Factory, the largest television manufacturing facility in Sub-Saharan Africa, before visiting the Hisense Tevolution Museum. There, they explored the company’s technology and contributed to a collaborative community mural, linking South African manufacturing, creativity and global sport.
The campaign concluded with a football tournament and kit handover in partnership with the Pitso Mosimane Youth Football (PMYF) programme. Four Cape Town teams received full playing kits and training equipment, benefiting 68 young footballers, who then competed for the Hisense Future Trophy.
Hisense confirmed that the initiative will continue in Johannesburg, where a further 16 teams, comprising 272 young players, will receive football kits and equipment to support their development.
We hope every young player walked away believing in their potential,Nortje added.
Football teaches resilience, teamwork, and determination, but it also reminds us that every great achievement starts with someone daring to believe they can get there.
By combining football, education and community investment, the Hands on the Future campaign aims to leave a lasting impact on young South Africans, encouraging them to believe that their ambitions can extend far beyond the football field.
