Nedbank Cup 2026 participating clubs confirmed ahead of Round of 32 Draw

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed the list of clubs that will compete in the 2026 Nedbank Cup, South Africa’s premier knockout football competition.

The tournament once again brings together teams from the Premier Soccer League (PSL), the Motsepe Foundation Championship (National First Division) and the SAFA divisions, underlining the competition’s reputation for inclusivity and unpredictability.

Premier Soccer League

All 16 PSL clubs have qualified for the competition, including defending champions Kaizer Chiefs, who will be aiming to retain the title. They will be joined by Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, Sekhukhune United, AmaZulu FC, Polokwane City, Durban City, TS Galaxy, Richards Bay, Golden Arrows, Siwelele FC, Marumo Gallants, Orbit College, Stellenbosch FC, Magetsi FC and Chippa United.

Motsepe Foundation Championship (NFD)

The National First Division will be represented by competitive sides looking to upset top-flight opposition. These include Casric Stars, Lerumo Lions, University of Pretoria (TUKS), Upington City, Milford FC, Hungry Lions, Gomora United and Highbury FC.

SAFA Divisions

Seven SAFA division teams have secured qualification after winning their provincial playoffs:

Army Rockets (North West)

FC Cardinals (Free State)

Jacksa Spears (Northern Cape)

Luthuli Brigades FC (Mpumalanga)

Mkhambathi FC (KwaZulu-Natal)

SSU M17 FC (Gauteng)

Tshakhuma Tsha Mazivhandila (Limpopo)


The Western Cape representative is yet to be confirmed.

Round of 32 Draw

The Round of 32 draw will take place on Thursday evening and will be broadcast live on SuperSport PSL channel 202.

All participating teams will be placed into a single pot, with no seeding. In each pairing, the first team drawn will host, while the second team drawn will play away, with the process continuing until all fixtures are confirmed.
