The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced a significant increase in various fees related to disciplinary actions, and arbitration fees. As approved by the national executive committee on the 18th of October 2026.
The New schedule approved by the National Executive Committee could place additional financial pressure on clubs seeking to challenge decisions.
SAFA confirmed the approval of the revised fee structure in its circular communicated by the office of the CEO, Ms Lydia Monyepao, on 23 October.

The changes include the regional third division (SAFA Regional League), Provincial Second Division (ABC Motsepe League), the National First Division (Motsepe Foundation Championship), and the Premier Soccer League (Betway Premiership).
This new schedule will add more financial pressure on clubs in the regional third division and the second division, as they rely on community funds and the club chairman’s funding for day-to-day operations.
These clubs do not receive any monthly funding from the South African Football Association (SAFA), which sees them run on stretched budgets, and this substantial rise could have financial implications for clubs seeking formal dispute resolution.
