The 2026 season of the Telkom Netball League (TNL) is set to get underway later this month, bringing together South Africa’s top provincial teams, emerging talent, and international invitational sides.
Widely regarded as the country’s premier netball competition, the league continues to play a central role in developing the sport and creating a pathway to the national team, the SPAR Proteas.
This year’s competition will kick off with Power Week One, scheduled from 24 April to 2 May at the Durban University of Technology Steve Biko Campus. Power Week Two will follow from 22 to 31 May at Ellis Park Arena, with the final leg of the tournament taking place from 12 to 15 June at Rembrandt Hall University of Pretoria Hillcrest Campus.
The 2026 edition will once again feature teams from all nine provinces, alongside international invitational sides from Malawi and Zimbabwe, adding a competitive global edge to the tournament.
President of Netball South Africa, Mami Diale, said the league remains the “heartbeat of netball” in the country, highlighting its role in nurturing talent and strengthening the pipeline to the national team.
She also emphasised that the tournament goes beyond on-court action, with a focus on developing skills and empowering communities in host regions.
As a long-standing partner, Telkom continues to support the growth of netball through its Stand Tall: From First Pass to Crown initiative, which celebrates the journey of players from grassroots level to international competition.
Telkom Chief Marketing Officer Gugu Mthembu said the league remains a vital platform for showcasing talent and supporting the broader development of the sport across the country.
Netball fans can expect a highly competitive season marked by intense provincial rivalries and the emergence of new stars, as the league continues to cement its role as a cornerstone of South African netball.
The Telkom Netball League not only offers high-level competition but also serves as a platform for opportunity, growth, and national representation.
